Gasoline Alley New!
With 49 years of dedicated service to the motor industry, Malcolm Scatchard followed in the footsteps of his father, Ray (Tony) Scatchard MBE. Tony began his illustrious career at Armstrong Siddeley Motors in the late 1920s and spent decades shaping the automotive landscape, culminating in the establishment of Charles Sidney as a leading name in the retail motor industry before retiring in 1979.
Malcolm joined Charles Sidney Ltd in 1966, working alongside his father for 32 years. During this time, he gained extensive expertise in both service and sales, working with legendary marques such as Aston Martin, Lagonda, Alvis, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Auto Union/Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
After leaving Charles Sidney, Malcolm leveraged his vast experience by founding a consultancy focused on vintage and classic cars. Over the following decade, he undertook a variety of notable projects, including establishing a used car operation for a prominent car retailer in the South West, helping to set up a museum dedicated to veteran and vintage vehicles, and assisting in the launch of a business specializing in the re-marketing of historic road and race cars.
In early 2008, Malcolm decided to create a company of his own, bringing his passion and expertise full circle. On August 1, 2008, he launched Gasoline Alley Ltd in the historic mill town of Bingley, West Yorkshire.
