Buick led the industry with the introduction of a pillarless "hardtop" coupe; with the 1949 Buick Riviera arriving on the market a few weeks ahead of Cadillac and Buick's offerings. Oldsmobile called their hardtop the "Holiday". By the time this 1956 model was built, the Holiday coupe was the most popular 88 body style. This 1956 Holiday 88 has the classic feel of a good 1950's cruiser. Smooth ride, a V8 (303ci) with lots of torque and an open airy cabin - thanks to the wrap around glass and hardtop styling. The two toned silver and red paint and matching interior is a classic staple of 50s styling. The acres of chrome on the bumpers and trim really speak to the rocket age mindset of the time. This 1956 Olds 88 is equipped with AM Radio, vinyl interior, power steering and brakes. It sits on wide white tires for that classic 50s look.
