The Mark series was a group of personal luxury vehicles produced under the Continental name. They were introduced in 1956 and were branded as Continentals which was positioned above Lincoln at the time despite the Continental Division being discontinued. Since it was meant to be a very exclusive vehicle they took a similar strategy to Chrysler with their Imperials. To eliminate branding confusion from 1986 onward they wore the Lincoln name plate since they were already integrated with and being marketed/serviced by Lincoln-Mercury. There was a brief hiatus for the Mark series in the 60's but they were re-launched in 1968 and 6 following generations were produced through 1998.
The Mark VII like you see here was introduced in 1986 and brought with it a lot of firsts for the line. In addition to the focus as a personal luxury vehicle the driving experience became a priority. It continued as a flagship vehicle for the Ford Motor Company but also became the technology flagship for the company. It was the first North American vehicle sold with 4 channel antilock brakes and also incorporated disc brakes under all four corners and 4 wheel electronic air suspension. This 1990 Lincoln Mark VII is in very clean condition. It is a 1 owner car with 69,700 original miles. The car has been well cared for since new and is always stored indoors. It has never been driven in salt road conditions to insure it remains all rust free. It is fully loaded with all options including the Bill Blass package. It is painted in a Twilight Blue that has an excellent finish. All of the chrome trim and accents have a very nice shine with zero pitting or issues. The car rides on its original wheels and hubcaps with Michelin all season tires.
The motor is its original high performance 5.0 L 302 V8 motor that runs great. It doesn't smoke and the car has been regularly serviced throughout its life. The original 4 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly with no problems. The car is a great driver and rolls down the road very comfortably. Considering how well it has been taken care of this car has a long life ahead of it.
The interior of the car is done in all Blue and is in remarkable condition. Interiors are one of the first areas of a vehicle to start to show wear and this one looks really clean. The carpet, seats, door panels, headliner, and dash all look good. Being a luxury car competing with Cadillacs you can bet they packed them with as much new tech and power features they could. It has an all digital dash with trip computer and on board message center. The AC on the car blows cold and all accessories are power operated.
This is a very clean example of one of these Mark VIIs and drives out well.
