1966 Mini Cooper S MK I
(Austin) Mini Cooper S - British small car icon with exciting first delivery history.

First introduced in 1959, the Mini, at that time like our car still under the brand name Austin, received an even more powerful 1275 cc engine from the year of construction 1964. The Mini Cooper S won the Monte Carlo rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967. In 1967, it also became a movie star in the legendary film "The Italian Job".

Our Mini, year of construction 1966, also remains from this era!

The first delivery of this factory left-hand drive (LHD) Mini Cooper S was made through a dealer in Honolulu/Hawaii. A few years later, it moved to Arizona/USA. In 2014, it returned to England, where it was completely restored. In this process, it proved advantageous that it had been moved for decades in countries with dry and hot climates. So it remained largely rust-proof.

Engine (matching numbers) and gearbox were completely overhauled, wear parts renewed. Valves, piston rings and also the electrical system were replaced with new parts during the restoration in 2014.

The restoration was done very carefully, placing much value on the preservation of original parts instead of installing new parts. Better restore than replace was the premise!

The mileage before the restoration was approx. 134,000 km.

With only approx. 50 km since restoration, this Mini is practically a new car!

Nevertheless, he has a beautiful original patina.

A special feature is the additional fuel tank, which was rarely installed from the factory.

The car has been repainted in the original Island Blue color with a roof in Old English White.

The car is accompanied by extensive documentation including photos of the restoration, sales contracts, the original Operating Instructions and a certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust confirming the information.

The last time the vehicle was registered in France.
