Chassis No. AR3025433 For years, Alfisti seeking to extract the maximum performance out of their Alfa Romeo have turned to Bristol-based specialists Alfaholics for their extensive catalog of performance upgrades. Ranging from period-correct restorations to all-out race cars, Alfaholics is the company behind some of the most world-renowned Alfa Romeo builds in existence. Few classic cars offer the timeless styling, delightful driving dynamics, and sonorous exhaust note of a classic Alfa Romeo, making them hugely desirableâespecially tastefully modified examples like GTV 2000 on offer. According to information obtained through Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo, chassis number AR3025433 was completed on 14 October 1974 and dispatched four days later to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Details of its original specification include a Prugna (Plum) exterior finish, and tessuto plastificato color cuoio naturale, translating to vinyl in natural leather color. In more recent times, the car was acquired by a Maine-based collector circa 2018, who subsequently initiated a restoration. The incomplete project then passed to a new owner in Florida in 2020, where the restoration resumed in the workshops of Auto Veloce Inc. in North Miami. The exterior work focused on returning the vehicle to its original splendor with a new finish in period-correct Alfa Red (501). The Auto Veloce team installed new headlights complemented by yellow inner lenses, Altissimo rear lenses, chromed front and rear bumpers, and a correct 2000 GTV front grille. The exterior details were completed with the addition of Quadrifoglio front fender decals and Biscione C-pillar badges, as well as 15-inch Alfaholics wheels mounted with Dunlop tires. Inside, the cabin showcases rare 1969 "Flying Buttress" seats upholstered in black vinyl paired with new door panels, headliner, sun visors, and Alfaholics carpeting. The dashboard received new woodgrain veneer, Jaeger gauges, and a handsome wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel. Modern comfort features were carefully integrated, including an Alfaholics air conditioning system with custom airline-style dashboard jets, all new Dynamat soundproofing throughout, and Securon Inertia seatbelts for both front and rear passengers. The mechanical restoration centered on a complete rebuild of 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. Beginning with a short block assembled by Redline Engineering in Maine, the engine received 10:1 high-compression Motronic pistons and forged MaXpeeding connecting rods. Richard Jemison Racing (RJR) provided a race-specification ported and polished cylinder head, complemented by RJR 1195 high-lift cams and a 472 intake system. The engine's breathing was optimized with matched dual Weber intakes and Weber 45 DCOE 9 carburetors, enhanced by Pipercross ram pipes. Other improvements included a 123ignition Bluetooth distributor with phone app functionality, along with a new alternator and fuel pump. The suspension system was upgraded with a complete Alfaholics Stage 1 kit, featuring a blade bar and GTA-type adjustable top arms. Completed in 2022, this Alfa Romeo presents an outstanding opportunity to acquire the most refined iteration of Alfa Romeo's 105 series that harmoniously blends period character with thoughtfully integrated performance upgrades.
