Here we have a truly superb 1962 Triumph TR4, finished in it’s original factory colour of Spa White with Red leather interior. This TR4 was subjected to a full body off the chassis rebuild by our partners TR Enterprises over 2 years and was completed in 2011.

This comes from a former owner who is a long-standing member of the TR Register and is well known for his new old stock spares for these cars. Many of these original parts were used in the rebuild of this particular vehicle.

Specification includes – Uprated suspension, dual circuit brake assembly, 89mm fast road engine with 42 DCOE Weber carburettors, uprated radiator, sports manifold & system, genuine Silverstone American Racing Wheels with ‘as new’ 165/15 tyres, 4 speed ‘A’ type overdrive gearbox, leather trim & seats, wool carpet set, welded in steel fireproof rear bulkhead. Brief history of the TR4

Built 12th April 1962 – Chassis number CT 7512

First registered – 1st June 1962 – Registration number 1895 WK – First registered owner Standard Triumph Sales

Dispatched 4th June 1962 – Personal export delivery for Mr JC Hardy, c/o ZF Garages Hong Kong

October 1962 – Registered as HK 1090 – Registered owner Mrs D Longley

June 1981 – Purchased by the former owner

July 1987 – Vehicle re-imported to the UK – Issued UK registration number RSU 645 – Vehicle was not used/MOT’d once registered

November 1987 – Vehicle was re-exported to Honk Kong by current owner – Registration number HK1090 remained allocated to car

1988 – Vehicle was garaged due to a minor accident

1989 – Vehicle was re-registered in Hong Kong as HG 2850 when the HK 1090 mark was retained

June 2009 – Car was shipped back to the UK

2010/2011 – Vehicle was subject to a full restoration by TR Enterprises – The original number plate 1895 WK was re-assigned to the vehicle at this time.

The restoration was thoroughly comprehensive from the “ground up” with only new old stock panels & parts used along with the addition of various performance upgrade. An 89mm fast road engine was built using its original cylinder head and engine block which was lightened, balanced and made ready for unleaded fuel. A tubular “extractor” stainless reel exhaust manifold was made and fitted along with original 42DCOE weber carbs.

The vehicle was also fitted with duel circuit brakes, high capacity radiator, Revotec cooling fan etc to name just a few other modifications.

This TR4 comes with a folder full of history, from the UK and Hong Kong. Previous and current V5’s, previous MOT’s, heritage certificate, original Hong Kong motor vehicle registration book, the original log book showing Standard Triumph as the first owners etc.

This car is on the button, ready for it’s new custodian. A superb addition to any ones garage!
