Built on 17-18th February 1966 this Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is a desirable Phase II model despatched from Austin’s Abingdon facory on 11th March 1966 for delivery to George Box Limited of Dewsbury. This original right hand drive home market car stays true to its original build specification today having been restored in its original Ivory White upon Black colours.
This Healey externally presents very well owing to a major nut and bolt restoration (finishing 1995 with low miles since) which saw the car stripped down to the bare chassis, repainted and built back up again with all components restored, replaced or refurbished. Paintwork has a very good deep lustre with only a few small blemishes as would be expected from a few years of use. Wheels are chrome 72spoke wires wearing wider 185 section Vredstien tyres. Period twin spots are proudly presented on the front bumper and are in good working condition.
During restoration the engine was full rebuilt, the car was full rewired and replumbed with all new lines and hoses and the suspension, axle and gearbox all fully refurbished. .
Inside the car presents very nicely with a clean interior and good quality of fitment throughout and no unsightly marks owing to the considerate usage since restoration. All gauges are correct originals fully functioning as Smiths gauges do. Wet weather gear comprises of a very smart Black Everflex hood which fits very well and is tear free.
