This is a car that has had a comprehensive upbringing with different chapters throughout its life. Simply google “RS500 E55 DGU” and you will be able to find out much more detail than this brief sales description.

We are delighted to offer for sale this Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, a heavily modified icon of its day now ready to be loved for what it is or returned to what it once was.

First registered on 1St September 1987. It was the 439th example of the limited edition machine to roll out of the Tickford factory at Bedworth finished in Diamond white.

During its early days, the original owner decided that the car did not have the sufficient performance at which he desired and so began the life of this modified icon.

The early transformation was completed by Graham Goode Racing with an engine to the same standards as those used in Group A British Touring Cars in 1990. This pedigree at the time resulted in E55 DGU being heavily featured in the 90s modified scene including the front cover of Max Power in November 1994 and Performance Ford in January 1996 as well as featuring on the Max Power short film 1996 Max Power: The Beasts Unleashed.
After this, the car went through its next ownership, until it resurfaced in 2006. Little is known about what happened at this time but the car was still heavily modified. With some receipts from Norris Motorsport in 2008/09, the car was adapted again in the direction of its next owner.

After being sat in storage for 9 years, the car resurfaced again in 2019 in need of recommissioning. The RS500 was then sent to Graham Goode Racing for an extensive amount of work totalling over £30,000 including a suspension rebuild with polyurethane bushes and overhaul of Bilstein dampers; Graham Goode Racing Big Front Brake conversion; new loom to under bonnet wiring; refaced flywheel and new clutch; GGR aluminium cooling system; GGR Cone & trumpet air filter; rebuilt inlet manifold; rebuilt turbocharger; new camshaft, front crankshaft, timing belts; new water pump; new starter motor. The car was then used sporadically until moving on to its most recent owner.

The sale also comes with a wealth of historical documents, including copies of highlighted magazines, a substantial collection of invoices, MOT certificates, and a journal from the original owner detailing its first major build, along with plenty of other interesting reading material.
