"After the 1984 MHR, in 2001 and 2002, another Ducati dedicated to the legendary Mike 'The Bike' Hailwood was produced. It was manufactured in 2,000 units. A 904 cc 90° V-twin engine, weighing 186 kg. Its unmistakably retro look was inspired by the Ducati that won the 1978 TT, where after an exciting race, Mike 'The Bike' beat Phil Read's Honda. Mike 'The Bike' was already a multiple world champion and had not raced for 11 years. He returned, competing almost for free, on the beautiful Ducati NCR 900 and won, spectacularly. Ducati's victory on English soil gave the brand enormous visibility and consecrated Mike 'The Bike' as a legend of motorcycling."
