The Rapide is a four-door, four-seater, high-performance sports saloon, which Aston Martin introduced in early 2010. It was first presented as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in 2006 and the production version was shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Rapide name is a reference to the Lagonda Rapide, a four-door, four-seater saloon produced by Lagonda, now a part of Aston Martin. The new Rapide is the company's first four-door fastback saloon since the Lagonda which was discontinued in 1990. It is based on the DB9 and underpinned by the Aston Martin VH platform. The first cars rolled off the production line in May 2010, initially built at a dedicated plant at the Magna Steyr facility in Graz, Austria.
This example is presented in the very attractive colour combination of metallic black with a black leather interior with red stitching and silver wheels. The Rapide still to this day looks sleek and modern with this example no exception boasting just 51,000 miles from new. Rear entertainment screens were fitted at the factory giving this four-seater rocket ship a top-of-the-range spec. The service record shows the majority at Aston Martin main dealers having also just been freshly serviced. This example has been subject to a category S insurance loss, we have a photo showing the minor damage to the front driver's side wing only, this has been professionally repaired. A tour around the car today and you swiftly realise this V12-powered four-door saloon with perhaps some of the coolest rear seats presents very well indeed. Offered to auction with a UK V5C registration document, comprehensive history file and MoT test certificate, this Rapide looks like great value. Consigned by Mathew Priddy.
