Jaguar XJ 13 Recreation
A masterpiece by “Proteus Cars” from 1967
Constructed in 1966, the original XJ13 sports prototype had been intended to spearhead Jaguar's return to Le Mans. Unfortunately the original XJ13 never found its way to racing because of the fusion from Jaguar with BMC this project had been put on ice. During film works in 1971 the car crashed unfortunately, the driver Norman Dewis remained uninjured, and the car was scarp and the ideas of Le Mans plans burst. Two years later Jaguar reconstructed this only example which is now being kept in the Jaguar museum in Coventry, UK.
Professionally constructed in 1991, this breathtaking Jaguar XJ13 replica carried the registration 'EHC 61 F” and was made by Proteus. A very precise replica of the original.
There was no expense spared in pursuit of a highly accurate replica of the infamous Jaguar.
The car is powered by a fuel-injected Jaguar V12 engine, 5.933 cc which delivers 329 hp/242 kw. The body is made out of aluminium. The body was produced with louvred bonnet, side and boot panels. These coupled with polished aluminium cockpit, period dials, Plexi glass windows, Motolite steering wheel and period lighting gave the car a highly accurate finish. This extravagant and impressive example is number 3 out of only 7 built by Proteus. It is a prime example of collaboration between technology and design.
This XJ13 has covered only 5000 kilometres from new and is described by the private vendor as in generally excellent good state and condition and running well. The car has been recently serviced and maintained.
The colour combination is also very tasteful and classy, the car is finished in dark green exterior and black leather interior with a lovely shine and little signs of usage.
The car is part of a great classic car collection! The car is a blast to drive and a real head turner. Engine has a beautiful sound, it accelerates great, drives and shifts smoothly and has a responsive steering. It is registered in Germany on German numberplates.
Large files, invoices of services and many pictures of its past present.
Enjoy this wonderful car which is ready to rally and tour.
In short: PROTEUS makes the very finest and best examples!
