The C2 that you see here is one from 1965. That means that it is the version with one big rear window, instead of the earlier Split Window. The Corvette left the factory in St. Louis in Missouri in the United States to make the first owner incredibly happy. More than thirty years later, it is now 1996, the car is moving to the Netherlands to stay in possession of the same owner for more than 25 years. That is another clear history!
The Dutch owner was, naturally, a big fan of the Corvette and cherished the car with a lot of conviction. The car was only used for pleasure rides with good weather and the car was always in a heated garage when it was not used. Past and snow have always been saved the car. The Corvette has only driven 53,000 miles.
In addition to the perfect maintenance during the entire period in the Netherlands, the car is also rare original. For example, the original windows from 1965 are mounted. The interior was partially renewed a few years ago. Not a complete restoration, because you run the risk that the soul will disappear a bit. However, the interior looks completely frit and sleek again. In the center console, the original Delco AM/FM radio is mounted in a vertical position. Just like the timer, the radio also works as he should do it.
Year of construction 1965 means that the necessary improvements have been made to the car. For example, disc brakes were mounted for the first time in that year. Ventilated and equipped with four brake suckers per claw. Anything but obvious at that time! The wheels are of the type with the central wing nut, the so-called knock-off wheels.
This Corvette is equipped with the relaxing power glide automatic and steering and brake steering, making it a great car to be on the road easily and quickly. The Turbo-Fire V8 is 5.3 liters in size and according to a nice 'foolproof' classic recipe. The 250 hp supply source is matching numbers and the same also applies to transmission and cardan.
We can call this Sting Ray a price passer, because over the years the car managed to win various prices for the owner. As a thank you, the owner had the Corvette provided with a new lacquer layer a few years ago after being made completely bare. Of course in the original color, Milano Maroon.
The Corvette not only looks great, the very well maintained American drives too. The engine with smooth automatic, the chassis and the brakes are all in optimum condition.
From the last 15 years, a detailed logbook is present at the car. All in all we can speak of an exceptionally good, beautiful and fine Corvette C2.
