It becomes even more special when we are dealing with a car from the last year of that series, 1988, officially designated as WTL, which stands for Worksturbolook.
The Worksturbolook is exceptionally rare and highly coveted, especially when there is no doubt that it was done by the factory. In the case of this example, there is a document from Porsche confirming that it is an official WTL. But the good news about this incredible 911 doesn't end there, as the configuration, 'triple blue,' is also one of the most beloved colour combinations. The blue paint, blue leather interior, and blue soft-top complete the perfection of this WTL Cabriolet.
Okay, we've covered the specifications, but there's more to mention: the condition of the 911 is exceptional. With only 67,809 kilometres on the clock, this WTL is in phenomenal shape. The leather upholstery appears untouched and beautifully supple. Its colour is deep and consistent throughout. The steering wheel and gear stick of an older Porsche are often the areas that reveal the true freshness of the car. As you can see in the photos, they have barely been affected by use or time. Do you notice the modern radio? You might find it a pleasant addition, but the original radio is present with the car if you prefer it to be more fitting with the overall original condition. The convertible top is as beautiful as the interior, with the fabric fitting tightly and showing no signs of discolouration, just like the rest of the interior.
The body of the 911 WTL is magnificent. The first things that stand out are its beautiful, smooth lines and freshness. The panel gaps are perfect, just as a stunning 911 should be. When you inspect the door jambs, door hinges, and edges of the body panels, you'll agree with us that we're dealing with an exceptionally clean car without any issues. The paint was expertly renewed about ten years ago, in the original colour, of course.
Under the hood lies the powerful, air-cooled 3.2-litre six-cylinder boxer engine with 231 horsepower. It is distinctive in performance, sound, and character. The 3.2, coupled with the highly regarded G50 gearbox, is friendly to everyone while being a true sports engine with a beautiful power build-up and good torque. There is enough power available at low revs, but as the RPMs climb, the push in the back becomes stronger, until the six-cylinder engine screams joyfully and demands the next gear. Not only the power but also the driving characteristics of the WTL are excellent. The suspension is in great condition, and the brakes perform exceptionally well.
The Porsche was initially serviced by the dealer and later maintained by the same reputable specialist. The service stamps are all present in the original booklets, which are kept together in the original owner's manual wallet. Some recent invoices are also available.
If you are looking for a special edition of a legendary sports car in more than fantastic condition, then you have.
