The Triumph Motor Company was first founded in 1885 and originally began producing motorcycles but in 1923 manufactured their first car. The company went through a lot of changes over the years being acquired by Leyland motors, then the British Leyland Specialist Division until it became dormant under the Rover Group which is currently owned by BMW. The TR6 is a sports car they manufactured in England and although production began many months earlier it was released in January for the 1969 model year. They were sold in the UK but over 80K of the 91,850 produced by 1976 had been exported to the US. They fed right into US market providing the go to vehicle for those Americans wanting a small 2 seater sports car with the British flair. This cool TR6 was produced in that very last year and is a great driver. The car is painted in a Dark Green and wears all of its original bumpers, trim and that TR6 British flag. It has a Black cloth convertible top that is in good shape and it comes with a Black boot cover that snaps into place. The car sits on its original wheels with TR6 center caps and are wrapped with Michelin tires.
All TR6s were sold with the Triumphs 2.5L straight 6 engine. It has a pair of Stromberg Zenith carburetors and starts up well. It is combined with a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly.
The interior is all in good condition and done in Black. It has stock bucket seats with headrests and 3 point seat belts. The dash features its woodgrain trim which is in good condition. It is topped with a lot of the original components but the gauges are a mixture of Smith gauges and aftermarket iequus gauges. The trunk of the car provides additional storage and houses the original spare.
This is a neat classic sports car and b
