The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (chassis code W 198) is a two-seat sports car that was produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1954 to 1957 as a gullwinged coupé and from – 1957 to 1963 as a roadster. The 300 SL traces its origins to the company’s 1952 racing car, the W194, and was equipped with a mechanical direct fuel injection system that significantly increased the power output of its three-litre overhead camshaft straight-six engine.

This particular car was built towards the end of the production line in 1962 and was allocated chassis number: 980 421 0003095 which features the desirable aluminium engine block and all-round disc brakes. Additional highlights are the cars highly desirable factory Hardtop and stunning original green leather interior.

Beautifully restored, it’s been part of an incredible collection of cars since 2016 that are serviced and maintained by Finest Sports & Historic Cars in Lingen, north Germany. As with all cars in the collection, it is permanently registered and regularly driven therefore receiving the best level of maintenance possible.
